We drove from Oslo to Viddega, Sweden today.  We stayed with my cousin Phyllis.  

 My brother especially found this sign very funny - it means "Slow Down".

Vigeland Park is an amazing sculpture park that we had lots of fun wandering around and interacting with the sculptures.  We also went to the Holmenkollen ski jump which I have just discovered has been demolished and rebuilt since we were there.  

23 August 1988

A visit to the world's oldest open air museum (museums which form a theme in my life) Norsk Folkemuseum.  These were beautiful buildings including a gorgeous Norwegian Stave Church. We also went to the Resistance Museum and the harbour.  We also visited friends of my parents in the evening.

22 August 1988

Today was an interesting and busy day.  We visited the Fram (see photos below) which has been to both poles.  We also saw the Kon-Tiki which Thor Heyerdahl built to show that prehistoric humans could have crossed the Pacific Ocean. Keeping up the boat them we then went to the Viking Ship Museum.  These were all amazing to see.   

21 August 1988

We arrived in the beautiful city of Oslo today.  It was the coldest summer in 50 years, it was raining and we were camping in a tent.  As we had a station wagon, I put down the back seat and slept in the back of it.  This was helpful to have one less person in the tent.  It was very cold!!
