Learning to make placemats! Here we are cutting out the pieces (with free cookies and water!) And here are the different placemats pieced together. Mine is the closest one in the picture. Next class in two weeks is putting them all together and adding binding. I used my new sewing machine but had a little trouble so still have some more to learn.
Ohh, fabric shopping is fun! This is what I got yesterday for a class on placemats that I start on Wednesday. I think that it will make beautiful placemats!
There's a pond hockey tournament on today. This is the view from the Library as they were getting ready for it on Friday. It's a gorgeous day today, just as sunny.

Well, I am not entirely sure if I like this or not. I'll leave it for a while and see whether or not I really like it.
I took this picture last weekend out over Lake Nipissing right before the sunset. You can see the ice fishing huts out on the ice.
Walking into a my apartment and seeing a beautiful sunset. If only it wasn't so cold, oh well at least we didn't get all the snow that they did down south.
Well, I had an enjoyable weekend watching films at the All Canadian Film Festival. I enjoyed all the films, features and shorts! Two of the highlights: "That Beautiful Somewhere" written by a Nipissing professor and shot in North Bay. "A Simple Curve" was very funny and good plot - it was a little disconcerting to see Michael Hogan as a 21st century character when I'm used to seeing him as Colonel Tigh on Battlestar Galactica. PS I'm using an old digital camera given to me by my sister and brother-in-law for which I am extremely grateful, but I have shaky hands and it really shows when I try to take a picture that has detail.
The best way to spend a Saturday afternoon is shopping for yarn! Thanks to my friend Kirstie for showing me around the stores last weekend. Also for letting me use her yarn winder - see the results above. This is a gadget that I definitely need. We had great fun and she is great enabler:) This weekend I'll be at an all Canadian Film Festival.
Here's the CN Tower - another picture from a Greyhound bus. This time on my way down to Brantford for a meeting. I just went for the day, before the start of the Ontario Library Association SuperConference. It seems to unnerve people to think of over 4,000 Librarians in one spot at one time. It was a good conference and I was able to catch with a number of people.
