Paris - sites

This ranks as one my favourite churches.  The stained glass is amazing and was all taken down and stored during WWII.  The ceiling is also amazing.  No photos of the inside but you can follow the link.  I love stained glass.

Paris - Art

The Louvre is of course amazing.  You can tell by the "happy" looks on our faces that we were not impressed by the Mona Lisa.  It had something to do with 20 deep crowd around it.  The Musee d'Orsay was amazing and a magnificent building.

Paris

Setting up at the campground - notice the lack of grass.  It was at the end of a subway line and very convenient for getting into Paris.  We stayed here at least one other time in our stay.  We also frequented this Chinese restaurant several times.

This was also our second trip to Paris.  We had visited Paris a few years earlier during a visit to England when we had taken the Hovercraft and train.

Chateau de Fountainebleau

Interesting bookends to this holiday of Fountainebleau and Versailles.  I much preferred Fountainebleau but some of that is because Versailles was so crowded.  It is interesting how that affects one experience so much.

Feeding the carp who were piling up on top of each other out of the water to get the bread.

October Vacation

In France there is a week off at the end of October and we went to Paris, Fontainebleau, Versaille and Chartres.  Here we are having our roadside picnic on the way.  You will notice that we took full advantage of our time in France to sample the patisseries.

Archeodrome (Beaune)

The Archeodrome in Beaune was an amazing museum that really allowed one to get the feel of how people used to live - and why the Romans were so successful!

Random Roadside Photo

From October sometime, in Bourgogne some place.  No idea where or when other than that.  Judging by the cloths, it doesn't seem to be from any other trip we took for which I have photos.  I think that we must have just gone for a ride around - the countryside was beautiful.
