These are 2 of my favourite pictures of my brother and me! I've been thinking about them with the arrival of my second nephew who is just about the same age difference as my brother and me. And those are pretty cool overalls that I am wearing:)

Victoria

I had a great time in Victoria for the new course I am starting and then met up with my brother who came over from Vancouver where he is currently living. We had a great time exploring after my course and looking at some beautiful trees. Which was fun with my forester brother though we would have done more if I had hiking boots.

Have a new computer since my old one died, sigh what a pain but enjoying the new one and - dare I say it - Vista. Two more days of work before the holiday when I will be off to see my family at my sister's in St. Louis, including my 2 nephews. The latest (no name yet) decided he wanted to be here for the celebrations and arrived yesterday 3 weeks early!!

First Sock

And I have already started on the second sock so hopefully I'll be wearing them in a few months - holiday projects needing to take precedence at the moment. Though I do have an upcoming bus ride and plane ride which may prove useful at getting them done!

So I took a number of these shots as Montreal has quite a few of these repetitive type architectural style buildings around. I like this but there is something not quite right with the composition or light. I was going to play around with cropping it but wasn't sure what to do.

Road Building in Northern Ontario

It is quite a sight to see as they literally scar the land in building the road. The road is built on the Canadian Shield so a lot of blasting takes place.

What to do when your coworker has knee surgery?

When you find out the stitches look like eyelashes and you know she is paranoid about writing with pen on skin - come up with $20 so she will let you draw a happy face on her knee!
Later that day after the stitches came out, we had a dead happy face. Although some were trying to convince me that it was just an eye lift - I know it was dead! (And the money went to the student food bank.)

Canada Day

Chairs and a Shawl

If you are going to get chairs, they might as well be hot pink!

This shawl did not turn out really well. I should have realized earlier that it wasn't wide enough. I think that it will be okay as a kind of scarf instead. My first shawl(ish) and I have a better idea of what to do next.

Dissected Frog

I love craft trading. I made a quilted bag - same pattern as this one with one different fabric and the scraps used differently. In return my friend knitted me a dissected frog! How exciting!! The design is by CraftyHedgehog. I still need to get him mounted and I think that I will hang him in my office.

Crocheted Runner

I really liked the way this runner turned out and it went to my Mom. I think that it will look much nicer on her dark wood coffee table.
