The Louvre is of course amazing. You can tell by the "happy" looks on our faces that we were not impressed by the Mona Lisa. It had something to do with 20 deep crowd around it. The Musee d'Orsay was amazing and a magnificent building.

The Muse d'Orsay was originally a train station but is now an art gallery and very well converted to its present use. We always saw as much as possible every day and Wilf was our tour guide and he kept us busy.
At the Louvre we were able to get right up to the Mona Lisa but now since someone damaged it there is a plastic case around it. The nice thing about sightseeing in October is that there are not a lot of tourists around. We also got into a lot of places with a family rate which is supposed to be only for the French but only once did an unpleasant woman object. (However she did give us the rate.)
