An amazing visit to the British Museum, highlights what one would expect: Elgin Marbles, Rosetta Stone, Sutton Hoo treasures.

This was a wonderful day. Among many wonderful things in the Museum we saw the Rosetta Stone. I bought a pamphlet about it and when we got back to Windsor I gave it to Charlotte's 8th Grade teacher who was fascinated by the Stone.
A few words about our entry into England from a channel crossing. We had an old, somewhat battered car and a French license and when the customs official spoke to Dad he said slowly "Do you speak English?" and Dad replied in a surprised voice, "I am English" and the fellow waved us on.
