Our apartment had a balcony which you can see behind Jane and her cake. We never used it. The apartment needed decoration. The wall paper was ancient and old fashioned. The children had foam mattresses on the floor for their beds and boxes for their clothes. Jane said when we got home that it was nice not to clean her room on her knees. She and Charlotte shared a bedroom.
