Rest day today! Spent on the farm where my cousin lived next to beautiful horses. The next 2 days were spent driving back to Dijon where school life started.

This day was Phyllis's 40th Birthday and she had a party for everyone. After our dinner the Swedish family came over for the weekend. We sat around the diningroom table and had one dessert after another. In the afternoon I had been with Phyllis in the town when she bought a cake with marzipan icing (which I love). That was the main dessert but by the time we got to that one I had eaten so much of the many other cakes that I was too full to really enjoy it.
When the Swedish family arrived at her cottage, Phyllis told them all about us, how we were related, where we lived, how old the children were and so on. Then my family wanted me to speak in Swedish which I had been studying for a year. Well, Phyllis had used up all my simple vocabulary and there was nothing left for me to say! Even so it would have been hard to talk in Swedish for the first time to native speakers.
